Campaign Guidelines

Welcome to RiteGiving! These Campaign Guidelines are designed to help campaign creators maintain transparency, integrity, and compliance with our platform’s policies. By creating and managing a campaign on RiteGiving, you agree to adhere to these guidelines, ensuring a safe and trustworthy environment for everyone.


1. General Requirements

1.1 Honest Representation

  • Campaigns must provide truthful and accurate information.
  • Misleading or false claims, exaggerated outcomes, or fraudulent content are strictly prohibited.

1.2 Clear Purpose

  • The campaign description must clearly outline the goal, purpose, and intended use of funds.
  • Campaign creators should provide updates if the purpose of the campaign changes significantly.

1.3 Compliance with Laws

  • Campaigns must comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws.
  • Activities related to illegal purposes, money laundering, or funding terrorism are strictly prohibited.


2. Prohibited Campaigns

The following types of campaigns are not allowed on RiteGiving:

  1. Illegal Activities
  • Campaigns supporting activities or organizations involved in illegal or unethical behavior.
  1. Fraudulent or Misleading Campaigns
  • Campaigns with false claims, deceptive content, or unachievable promises.
  1. Hate Speech or Discrimination
  • Campaigns promoting hate, violence, discrimination, or harassment against individuals or groups.
  1. Adult or Explicit Content
  • Campaigns featuring explicit, pornographic, or sexually exploitative material.
  1. Weapons and Harmful Activities
  • Campaigns funding the purchase of firearms, ammunition, explosives, or other dangerous items.
  1. Gambling and Pyramid Schemes
  • Campaigns related to gambling, betting, or multi-level marketing schemes.
  1. Personal Financial Support Without Cause
  • Campaigns solely requesting personal financial support without a clear and verified reason.


3. Campaign Creator Responsibilities

3.1 Transparency

  • Clearly communicate how funds will be used.
  • Provide regular updates to donors about the progress and use of funds.

3.2 Use of Funds

  • Funds must be used solely for the stated purpose of the campaign.
  • Misuse of funds may result in account suspension, legal action, and repayment requirements.

3.3 Communication with Donors

  • Respond promptly to donor inquiries or concerns.
  • Keep donors informed about any significant changes in the campaign.

3.4 Prohibited Use of Images and Content
  • Do not use copyrighted material, trademarks, or images without permission.
  • Avoid using content that is offensive, graphic, or inappropriate.


4. Donations and Fundraising Limits

4.1 Minimum and Maximum Goals

  • Set realistic fundraising goals that align with your campaign’s purpose.
  • Campaigns with unreasonable or unachievable targets may be flagged for review.

4.2 Tax Compliance

  • Campaign creators are responsible for understanding and complying with any tax obligations related to their funds.
  • RiteGiving does not provide tax advice or documentation for individual campaigns.

4.3 Third-Party Payments

  • All transactions must be processed through RiteGiving’s payment gateway.
  • Direct solicitation of payments outside the platform is prohibited.


5. Fraud Prevention

5.1 Verification

  • RiteGiving may request additional documentation to verify the identity of campaign creators or the authenticity of campaigns.

5.2 Monitoring

  • Campaigns are subject to review and monitoring by RiteGiving.
  • Suspicious activity may result in campaign suspension or termination.

5.3 Reporting Fraud

  • Users can report suspected fraudulent campaigns by contacting support@ritegiving.com.
  • RiteGiving investigates all reports and takes appropriate action.


6. Campaign Duration and Closure

6.1 Campaign Duration

  • Campaigns can run for a maximum of  365 days.
  • Extensions may be granted upon request and approval by RiteGiving.

6.2 Early Closure

  • Campaign creators can close their campaigns early if the goal is reached or no longer needed.
  • Notify donors with a final update and summary of the funds raised and their intended use.

6.3 Unsuccessful Campaigns

  • Funds raised during an unsuccessful campaign may still be disbursed unless otherwise specified in the campaign description.


7. Enforcement and Penalties

7.1 Violations

  • Violations of these guidelines may result in:
  • Suspension or termination of the campaign.
  • Account suspension or permanent ban from RiteGiving.
  • Legal action if laws are violated.

7.2 Appeal Process

  • Appeals will be reviewed within 5 business days.


8. Changes to Campaign Guidelines

RiteGiving reserves the right to update or modify these Campaign Guidelines at any time. Changes will take effect immediately upon posting to our website. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated guidelines.
